Strong breaking ability: Fuses can cut off short-circuit currents in a very short time, and their breaking ability is usually high, which can effectively limit the damage of short-circuit currents to electrical equipment. Single protection function: mainly providing short-circuit protection, the protection effect against overload and other faults is not as good as circuit breakers, making it difficult to meet the diverse protection needs of complex distribution systems.
Poor selectivity: The melting characteristics of fuses are relatively fixed. In multi-level distribution systems, when a short circuit fault occurs, it may cause the higher-level fuse to melt, resulting in a large-scale power outage and affecting the normal power supply to non fault areas.
